In 1995, work began on developing a First Aid program that would be taught by experienced E.M.S. & Firefighter professionals to the general public. The overwhelming success and positive feedback from communities and other organizations quickly led to an association of professional rescuers dedicated to the philosophy and teaching methods developed at HeartSafe EMS.

Encouraging community involvement with a common sense, practical approach to First Aid & CPR intervention in a non-intimidating educational environment has become a trademark of HeartSafe EMS training programs.
